Vietnam Pho Soup Siagon Recipe (Phở Bò)
Pho (Phở Bò) the national breakfast or lunch of Vietnam. Pho Vietnamese soup is the greatest hangover cure known to man. This is my Pho recipe, by the Bald Chef (Glen Izett) is made the way Pho is made in Saigon, Vietnam. I thought "it's ok". Then my second time I had Vietnamese Pho I said "not bad" Then by my third time I was hooked. Not hooked like a drugs but, oh it's a whole new level! The true Pho soup coinsures knows it's the real deal after years of eating this famous Vietnamese soup. This video will show you how to make great Pho! The Bald chef loves pho that is made with banh pho rice noodles, and can be ordered with bo vien that are meat balls, bo tai raw beef, or Pho ve don that is made with shirt flank. Many Americans call this dish pho but in Vietnam it is called (fuh).
Ingredients For Making The Best Pho Soup
These are the ingredients you will need to cook a great pho soup recipe:
- 1 pound of beef bones
- 2 pounds of oxtail
- 1 stick of Siagon cinnamon cây qu
- 4 small pieces of fresh ginger
- 1/8 cup of fish sauce (nuoc mam)
- 5 coriander seed ngò
- 2 tablespoons of black pepper tiêu den
- one onion cut in halfed and chared hành tây
- 4 star anise
- Vietnamese parsley: ngò tàu
- green onion hành lá
- Fresh Vietnamese banh pho noodles (rice noodles)
Cooking Instructions For Making Beef Pho Siagon Style
in a large stock pot bring 10 cups of water to a hard boil. Add the 1 pound of beef bones, and the 2 pounds of oxtails to the boiling water. Cook the pho base of bones and oxtails for 1 1//2 hours on low heat with the spice pack of 1 stick of Siagon cinnamon, 4 star anise,4 small pieces of fresh ginger, one chared onion , 1/3 cup of fish sauce (nuoc mam) and 5 coriander seeds. Cook the pho stock for 1 1/2 hours untill the stock and spices have mixed. Drain off any oil , and prepare the rice noodles.
How To Serve Vietnamese Pho Soup
Serve with fresh pho rice noodles, thin scliced scallions, cilantro, and Thai basil. Add 1/4 pound thinly sliced beef eye(bo tai) or meat balls(bo vin) cut limes, bean sprouts, and siracha sause.Types of Meat Used For Vietnamese Beef Pho Soup
